Terry Neese

Terry Neese is a successful entrepreneur and a Distinguished Fellow at the National Center for Policy Analysis (NCPA), where she heads the organization's Family Policy Center.

In that role, she develops policy ideas to help women, families and small businesses keep more of their money and make better health and financial choices. She also briefs congressional leaders and their staffs on family issues and testifies regularly before the U.S. House and Senate.

Terry made history in 1990 when she became the first woman nominated by a major political party for the seat of Lt. Governor of Oklahoma. Fortune magazine named her one of the "Power 30," the most influential small businesspeople in Washington, D.C.

Terry founded Terry Neese Personnel Services in the 1970s and built that into a multimillion-dollar business. Since then, she's founded the nonprofit Women Impacting Public Policy (WIPP), which serves as a voice for women in the nation's capital, and the Institute for Economic Empowerment of Women (IEEW), which empowers women economically, socially and politically around the world. Most of the work to date has been with women business owners in Afghanistan and Rwanda.

IEEW programs include Peace Through Business, which educates and empowers women entrepreneurs in developing countries, and Empowering Women, which encourages women business owners to effect change through involvement in public policy.

Terry's articles on issues that affect women and families have appeared in the Chicago Sun-Times, Entrepreneurial Women magazine, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, The Oklahoman, The Journal Record, The Washington Examiner and The Washington Times. She is a recurring guest on Fox News, CNN, CNBC and SBTV.

In 2003, President Bush appointed her to the National Women's Business Council. In 2007, she was inducted into the Oklahoma Women's Hall of Fame.

Terry is a pilot and lives in Oklahoma City with husband Earl N. Neese. Daughter Kim is CEO of Terry Neese Personnel Services.
