Nina L. Kaufman is an award-winning business attorney, author and speaker. Through her New York City-based law practice, AskTheBusinessLawyer.com, and as president of Wise Counsel Press LLC, a legal information company, she has spent more than a decade helping hundreds of entrepreneurs navigate successfully through the legal issues they face in starting and running their companies.
A prolific writer, she has contributed articles on a wide range of legal topics to publications including Enterprising Woman, WomenandBiz.com, the American Bar Association’s GP/Solo Magazine and New York Enterprise Report. An occasional standup comic, Nina is a sought-after professional speaker. She has given seminars, workshops, teleclasses and presentations for numerous organizations in the New York area on subjects ranging from business partnerships and collaborative alliances to intellectual property and social media. She has been a featured panelist at the BlogHer Business and Women's Congress annual conferences, speaking on the subject of legal issues in social media. Nina also has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, SmallBusinessComputing.com, New York Law Journal, the American Bar Association Journal and Entrepreneur magazine, and she has appeared on Fox Channel 5's Good Day NY program.
Nina received her bachelor’s degree cum laude from Wellesley College, her master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and her law degree from Boston University School of Law. In addition to her interests in international travel, golf and photography, she is an active member of Congregation B’nai Jeshurun in New York City, where she has volunteered at its homeless shelter for more than 10 years.
